WARNING:
-
Never probe the electrical connectors on air bag, safety canopy or side air curtain modules. Failure to follow this instruction may result in
the accidental deployment of these modules, which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death.
-
Remove restraint system diagnostic tools from the vehicle prior to road testing. If tools are not removed, the supplemental restraint
system (SRS) device may not deploy in a crash. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in a crash
and possibly violate vehicle safety standards.
-
To reduce the risk of accidental deployment, do not use any memory saver devices. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious
personal injury or death.
NOTE:
-
The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the restraints control module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal
operation and does not indicate a SRS fault.
-
The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
1. Turn all vehicle accessories OFF.
2. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
3. At the smart junction box (SJB), located in the RH lower kick panel, remove the cover and the RCM fuse 17 (10A) from the SJB.
4. Turn the ignition ON and visually monitor the air bag warning indicator for at least 30 seconds. The air bag warning indicator will remain lit
continuously (no flashing) if the correct RCM fuse has been removed. If the air bag warning indicator does not remain lit continuously, remove the
correct RCM fuse before proceeding.
5. Turn the ignition OFF.
