Convertible Top Motor: Service and Repair
Motor and Pump
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove rear seat cushion pad and frame and rear seat back pad and frame.
3. Remove quarter trim panels.
4. Unclip the folding top motor upper and lower hose from the retaining clips. On vehicle equipped with Super Sound audio system, unclip the two
amplifier clips.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiring assembly.
6. Unseat the four folding top hydraulic lift motor and plate grommets from the folding top hydraulic lift motor and plate kit.
7. Remove the two folding top hydraulic cylinder rod shoulder screws.
8. Remove the two folding top hydraulic bracket nuts and remove the two folding top control link brackets.
9. Remove the folding top hydraulic lift motor and plate kit and folding top hydraulic cylinder from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Tighten folding top hydraulic cylinder rod shoulder screws to 9-12 Nm (80-106 lb-in).
