Seat Latch: Service and Repair
Cleaning and Inspection

The front seat back latch system is modular so it does not require customer or dealer adjustments or maintenance. Do not lubricate the front seat back
latch system. Lubricating the mechanism will adversely affect free rotation of the locking arms.

The only authorized service permitted on the inertia and manual front seat back latch mechanism are the following:

Tightening of all retaining bolts to specification.

Replacement (in entirely) of a damaged or nonfunctional front seat back latch assembly.

Removal of any foreign material, such as tie straps, pieces of foam and trim.
