Exhaust Pipe/Muffler Hanger: Service and Repair
Muffler Hanger

REMOVAL

1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Depending on application, remove exhaust hanger insulators from muffler or mufflers.

NOTE:  Support exhaust system with a suitable jack stand.

3. Remove muffler pipe bracket retaining bolts and muffler pipe bracket.

INSTALLATION

1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.

NOTE:  For ease of assembly, lubricate exhaust hanger insulators with Silicone Lubricant D7AZ-19553-AA or equivalent meeting Ford
specification ESR-M13P4A prior to installation of mufflers.

2. Tighten muffler pipe bracket retaining bolts to 15-20 Nm (11-14 ft. lbs.).
