While observing engine rpm on the NGS press and hold the TCC button on the Transmission Tester. Does the status light on the tester turn green?

Yes Proceed to Step 10.

No - Check connection and retest. If light still does not activate, refer to Step 6.
10.
While maintaining 105 km/h (65 mph) in 4th gear, press and hold the TCC button on the Transmission Tester. Wait 5 seconds and observe engine
rpm and TSS sensor rpm on the NGS. Accelerate at half throttle. Does turbine speed (TSS) remain within 50 rpm of engine rpm during
acceleration?

Yes - Suspected pump body separator plate gasket blow-out. Proceed to Step 11.
^
No - Replace Torque Converter (-7902-). Road test vehicle after repair.
11.
Remove pump assembly from transaxle. Disassemble pump support from pump body, being careful not to damage pump body separator plate
gasket. Compare the gasket to Figure 1. Is the pump body separator plate gasket blown-out?

Yes - Proceed to Step 12.
