Axle Shaft: Service and Repair
Outboard Half Only - RH side
Removal
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the RH wheel and tire assembly.
3. Carefully raise the staked portion of the front axle wheel hub retainer by using a small cape chisel and a hammer.
4. Remove and discard the front axle wheel hub retainer.
CAUTION: The front axle wheel hub retainer must never be reused.
NOTE: When loosening the front axle wheel hub retainer, lock the wheel hub by applying the brakes.
5. Remove the RH stabilizer bar link from the front suspension lower arm to ease the separation of the RH ball joint from the ball joint clamp.
6. Remove the ball joint clamp bolt.
