Place alignment marks on outer race and tripod joint, then remove outer race.

Place alignment mark on tripod bearing and halfshaft, then remove snap ring.

Using a brass drift, carefully drive tripod joint from halfshaft.

If necessary, remove boot small clamp, then wrap tape around halfshaft splines and remove boot.
10.
Check tripod joint for wear and damage and replace as necessary.
11.
If removed, wrap halfshaft splines with tape and install boot to halfshaft groove.
12.
Align marks on halfshaft and tripod joint made during removal.
13.
Using a brass drift, drive tripod joint into position on halfshaft, then install snap ring.
14.
Fill outer race with 3.5 ounces of lubricant E43Z-19590-A or equivalent, then position outer race over tripod joint, aligning marks made during
removal.
15.
Install bearing retaining ring, then position boot in groove on outer race.

Position joint so that distance between halfshaft boot groove and outer race groove is 3 1/2 inches.
17.
Using a screwdriver with sharp edges filled off, pry up on boot at outer race end to allow trapped air to escape.
18.
Install and lock boot clamps, then check joint for smoothness of operation through its full range of travel.
19.
Install halfshaft on vehicle.
