Throttle Position Sensor/Switch: Description and Operation
Throttle Position Sensor
DESCRIPTION
The Throttle Position Sensor (TP) is a variable resistor located on the throttle body. The sensor detects the opening of the throttle, and relays this
signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM). The TCM uses this information to control shifting, lockup, and line pressure.
