Loosen the front wheel nuts. | Vehicles with anti-lock brakes | -
Detach the anti-lock braking system (ABS) sensor cable from the connecting link. | | -
Detach the ABS sensor cable from the crossmember. | All Vehicles | -
Detach the stabilizer bar connecting link and the flexible brake hose from the suspension unit. | | -
CAUTION:Secure the caliper and anchor plate assembly out of the way to prevent damage to the flexible brake hose. Detach the caliper and anchor plate assembly. | | -
CAUTION:Protect the ball joint seal using a soft cloth to prevent damage. Detach the lower arm ball joint. - Remove the bolt.
- Detach the lower arm ball joint.

Remove the wheel knuckle to suspension unit pinch bolt. | | -
Remove the wheel knuckle from the suspension unit. - Insert the special tool and rotate through 90 degrees.
- Remove the wheel knuckle.

CAUTION:Use an Allen key to prevent the piston rod from rotating. Remove the suspension unit top mount nut. - Remove the cover, (if equipped).
- Remove the nut.

Position the suspension unit. | | -
CAUTION:Use an Allen key to prevent the piston rod from rotating. NOTE:Do not fully tighten the suspension unit top mount nut. Install the suspension unit top mount nut. | | -
Install the wheel knuckle to the suspension unit. - Install the special tool and rotate through 90 degrees.
- Install the wheel knuckle.

Install the wheel knuckle to suspension unit pinch bolt. | | -
CAUTION:Make sure a heatshield is installed to prevent damage to the ball joint. Install the heatshield. | | -
Install the lower arm to the wheel knuckle. | | -
Install the stabilizer bar connecting link and the flexible brake hose bracket to the suspension unit. | Vehicles with anti-lock brakes | -
Install the ABS sensor cable to the crossmember. | | -
Install the ABS sensor cable to the connecting link. | All Vehicles | -
Tighten the suspension top mounting nut. - Tighten the nut.
- Install the cover (if equipped).
