Removal and Installation Removal | -
Remove the parking brake control cover trim. | | -
Lower the parking brake control lever and loosen the adjustment nut. | | -
Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation). | | -
CAUTION:If the grease cap is damaged during removal install a new cap. Remove the grease cap. | | -
Loosen the drum retaining nut. | | -
NOTE:When removing the drum make sure the wheel bearing is not displaced from its housing. Remove the drum. - Remove and discard the nut.
- Remove the drum.
- Ensure the wheel bearing is not displaced from its housing.
| Installation CAUTION:Once tightened, the hub retaining nut must not be disturbed. If the torque setting requires to be checked the nut must be loosened two full turns and re-tightened. NOTE:Rotate the hub while tightening the hub retaining nut. | -
To install, reverse the removal procedure. | | -
Adjust the parking brake cable. For additional information, refer to: Parking Brake Cable Adjustment (206-05 Parking Brake and Actuation, General Procedures). | | |
