The generator is solidly mounted towards the front of the engine and is driven at approximately twice the engine speed.
A voltage regulator housed within the body senses the output voltage and regulates this to a maximum of 14 volts at all times.
Apart from the pulley, generators should be serviced as a unit and not dismantled for overhaul.
