Remove the propeller shaft.

Remove the crossmember and transmission mount rubber.

CAUTION:The parking pawl, parking pawl return spring and parking pawl shaft could fall out during removal of the extension housing. Remove the extension housing. | | | -
Remove and discard the extension housing gasket. | 4x4 | | -

Clean the extension housing and install new extension housing gasket. | | -
CAUTION:Make sure the parking lever actuating rod is correctly seated into the case parking rod guide cup. Make sure that the park pawl is installed correctly. | | | -
Install the extension housing. - Tightening torque 28—32 N·m {2.9—3.2 kgf·m, 21—23 ft·lbf}
