Removal and Installation Removal | -
Fully recline both seat backrests. | | -
Release the convertible top assembly locks. | | -
Open the convertible top assembly storage compartment lid. | | -
NOTE:Inspect the gas struts for leakage, discard if necessary. Remove the convertible top assembly gas struts. - Using a suitable screwdriver, release the retaining clips.

Remove the convertible top assembly upper retaining bolt on both sides. | | -
Loosen the convertible top assembly lower retaining bolts on both sides. | | -
With the aid of another technician, remove the convertible top assembly. | Installation | -
If installing a new convertible top assembly, install the convertible top assembly lifting handle on the driver side. | | -
NOTE:Make sure the convertible top assembly mountings are fully located on the lower retaining bolts. NOTE:Do not fully tighten the convertible top assembly lower retaining bolts at this stage. With the aid of another technician, install the convertible top assembly. | | -
NOTE:Install new gas struts if necessary. Install the convertible top assembly gas struts. | | -
Close the convertible top assembly storage compartment lid. | | -
Position the front of the convertible top assembly onto the top of the windshield. | | -
Install the convertible top assembly upper retaining bolt on both sides. - Tighten the lower retaining bolts on both sides.

NOTE:Make sure the convertible top assembly locks do not foul the striker plates. If installing a new convertible top assembly, install the convertible top assembly locks. - Install the shim.
- Install the locking handle.
- Install the bolts.
- Install the bolts cover.

Engage the convertible top assembly locks and check the alignment of the convertible top assembly to the windshield. | | |
