This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to correct the part number for the Rear Lube Tube.
ISSUE:
The rear lube tube and seal and the planetary support have been redesigned for some 1993 model AX4S/AXODE transaxles. This was done to improve
lubricant flow to the planetary gears. The redesigned parts are NOT interchangeable with previous design levels. Further, the new seal, tube and
planetary support MUST be used together or damage to the planetary gears will result. The new design includes the following changes:

A new rear lube seal that is now located in the planetary support assembly and not in the transaxle case. The new seal is reusable if it has not been
damaged during disassembly.

A revised planetary support, incorporating the new rear lube seal.

A new rear lube tube which has a longer, smaller-diameter end to pass through the case into the rear lube seal.
ACTION:
If service is required on an AX4S/AXODE transaxle that has the new design rear tube seal located in the planetary support assembly, do NOT install the
previous design rear lube seal in the transaxle case. If the rear lube tube is replaced on a unit with the new seal, use the new style tube with the longer
end.
Use the following service tips when making planetary gear and rear lube tube repairs to AXODE and AX4S transaxles (Figure 1):

The new design rear lube tube and seal and planetary support may be used on any 1991 or 1992 AXBDE transaxle, however all three parts MUST
be used together.
