Differential: Service and Repair
W/4 Pinion Differential
REMOVAL
Typical 4 Pinion Differential Assembly
1. Remove righthand differential bearing cup from case and install over righthand differential bearing.
CAUTION: Failure to use cup will result in damage to differential bearing.
2. Remove differential bearing from speedometer side of differential using differential side bearing remover tool No. T66P-4220-A and step plate
tool No. T81P-4220-A, or equivalents.
3. Remove speedometer drive gear.
NOTE: Speedometer drive gear is plastic and is not pressed onto differential case.
4. If necessary, remove lefthand differential bearing using differential bearing cone remover tool No. T57L-4220-A and step plate tool No.
T81P-4220-A, or equivalents.
