Canister Purge Solenoid: Description and Operation
Fuel Vapor Canister Purge Regulator Valve
PURPOSE
The fuel vapor canister purge regulator valve is in-line with the fuel vapor canister and controls the flow of fuel vapors out of the fuel vapor
canister.
OPERATION
IT Is a normally closed valve. When the engine is shut OFF, vapors from the fuel tank flow into the fuel vapor canister. After the engine is
started, the fuel vapor canister purge regulator valve is engaged and opens, purging the fuel vapors into the engine while drawing air through the
fuel vapor canister.
