Remove

1. Disconnect the driveshaft.
1. Open the lock tab.

NOTE:

Position of the C‐shaped washer.

2. Remove the bolt.
• Pull off the universal joint.

2. Pull off the centre bearing.
Install

3. Clean the centre bearing/driveshaft contact faces.
4. Apply high‐durability grease (SAM‐1C9111‐A) to the sealing lip area.
5. Position the centre bearing.

NOTE:

Installed position.

6. Drive on the centre bearing to the stop.

NOTE:

Position of the adapter plate and the lock tab. The locating peg of the adaptor place must face the centre bearing.

7. Assemble the driveshaft with a new bolt and lock washer.
1. Fit the adaptor plate.
2. Fit the lock tab.
3. Screw in the bolt into the driveshaft and tighten until the two parts of the driveshaft touch.

NOTE:

The torque is determined by the overall length of the double‐ended ring spanner. See torque values in Operating Step

NOTE:

To obtain the necessary torque, the Special Tool and the double‐ended ring spanner must lie in a straight line.

8. Undo the universal joint bolt and tighten to 10 Nm.
• Fit the square end of the Special Tool in the opening of the double‐ended ring spanner (15 mm).
1. Double‐ended ring spanner (size 15/17 mm)
2. Special Tool
• Stake the lock washer.
   
9. The required torque on the Special Tool is dependent on the length of the double‐ended ring spanner.
   Length = 165 mm: torque = 5,6 Nm
   Length = 185 mm: torque = 5,3 Nm
   Length = 205 mm: torque = 5,0 Nm
