Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the brake drum. For additional information, refer to Section  206-02 Drum Brake.

  1. Remove the outer wheel bearing cone.

  1. Remove the wheel bearing spacer.

  1. Using the special tools, remove the wheel hub seal.

  1. Remove the inner wheel bearing cone.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Support the brake drum on suitable wooden blocks.
    Using a suitable soft metal drift, remove the outer wheel bearing cup.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Support the brake drum on suitable wooden blocks.
    Using a suitable soft metal drift, remove the inner wheel bearing cup.

Installation
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure the wheel bearing cup is fully seated.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Support the brake drum on suitable wooden blocks.
    Using the special tool and a suitable press, install the inner wheel bearing cup.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure the wheel bearing cup is fully seated.
    Using the special tool and a suitable press, install the outer wheel bearing cup.
  1. Coat the inner wheel bearing cone with grease.

  1. Install the inner wheel bearing cone.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure the wheel hub seal is fully seated.
    Using the special tool, install the wheel hub seal.

  1. Install the wheel bearing spacer.
  1. Coat the outer wheel bearing cone with grease.

  1. Install the outer wheel bearing cone.
  1. Install the brake drum. For additional information, refer to Section  206-02 Drum Brake.
