Remover/Installer, Crankshaft Front Oil Seal

1. Remove the accessory drive belt.For additional information, refer to:

   Accessory Drive Belt - 2.0L Duratorq-Di (Puma) Diesel/2.0L Duratorq-TDCi (Puma) Diesel/2.0L Duratorq-TDDi (Puma) Diesel (303-05 Accessory Drive, Removal and Installation),

   Accessory Drive Belt - 2.2L Duratorq-TDCi (Puma) Diesel, Vehicles With: Air Conditioning (303-05, Removal and Installation).

2. Raise and support the vehicle.
   For additional information, refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
   

3. Using the special tool, remove the crankshaft pulley.

4. Using the special tool, remove the crankshaft front oil seal.
   • Discard the seal.

   NOTE:Install a new crankshaft front oil seal.
   

   NOTE:A new crankshaft front oil seal is supplied with an alignment sleeve that will be pushed out during installation.
   Using the special tool, install the crankshaft front oil seal.

2. 

   CAUTION:Crankshaft pulley retaining bolts must only be used three times.
   

   NOTE:Stamp the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt heads with a center punch to indicate usage.
   Using the special tool, install the crankshaft pulley.
   • Tighten the bolts in two stages.
   • Stage 1: 45Nm.
   • Stage 2: 120 degrees.

3. Lower the vehicle.

4. Install the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to:
