Installer, Valve Stem Collets

1. Remove the fuel injectors. For additional information, refer to Section  303-04A Fuel Charging and Controls / 303-04B Fuel Charging and Controls / 303-04C Fuel Charging and Controls / 303-04D Fuel Charging and Controls - Turbocharger / 303-04E Fuel Charging and Controls / 303-04F Fuel Charging and Controls / 303-04G Fuel Charging and Controls.

2. Remove the rocker shafts.
   • Discard the bolts.

3. Loosen the valve collets.
   • Position a socket on the valve spring seat and gently strike it with a hammer.

4. Position the appropriate piston at top dead center (TDC).

5. Using the special tools, remove the valve collets.

6. Remove the valve springs.

1. Install the valve springs.

2. Using the special tools, install the valve collets.

3. 

   NOTE:Install new rocker shaft retaining bolts.
   

   NOTE:The oil supply holes in the rocker shafts must point downwards.
   Install the rocker shafts.
   • Tighten the bolts in two stages.
   • Stage1: 13 Nm
   • Stage 2: 45 degrees

4. Install the fuel injectors. For additional information, refer to Section  303-04A Fuel Charging and Controls / 303-04B Fuel Charging and Controls / 303-04C Fuel Charging and Controls / 303-04D Fuel Charging and Controls - Turbocharger / 303-04E Fuel Charging and Controls / 303-04F Fuel Charging and Controls / 303-04G Fuel Charging and Controls.
