Removal and Installation

General Equipment
3/8 inch square drive breaker bar

Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

  1. Slide open the bolt cover.

  1. Remove the accessory drive belt shield retaining bolts.

  1. Detach the fuel charging wiring harness and remove the accessory drive belt shield.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not use a 3/8 inch square drive extension bar.
    Remove the accessory drive belt.
    1. Using a 3/8 inch square drive breaker bar in the hole provided, rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner counterclockwise.
    1. Remove the accessory drive belt.

Installation

Vehicles without air conditioning
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not use a 3/8 inch square drive extension bar.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Install the accessory drive belt on the accessory drive belt idler pulley last.
    Install the accessory drive belt.
    1. Using a 3/8 inch square drive breaker bar in the hole provided, rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner counterclockwise.
    1. Install the accessory drive belt.
Vehicles with air conditioning
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not use a 3/8 inch square drive extension bar.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Install the accessory drive belt on the accessory drive belt idler pulley last.
    Install the accessory drive belt.
    1. Using a 3/8 inch square drive breaker bar in the hole provided, rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner counterclockwise.
    1. Install the accessory drive belt.
All vehicles
  1. Loosely install the accessory drive belt shield and attach the fuel charging wiring harness.

  1. Install the accessory drive belt shield retaining bolts.

  1. Close the bolt cover.
  1. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.
