Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Remove the gearshift lever cover.

  1. Detach the gearshift cables from the gearshift lever.
    • Remove the retaining clips.
    • Press the tabs together to release the locks.

  1. Detach the gearshift cables from the transaxle.
    1. Press the tabs together to release the locks.
    1. Pull the locking pins and detach the abutment sleeves.

Installation
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:When installing the gearshift cables to the transaxle linkage, an audible click should be heard when the tabs are correctly seated.
    Attach the gearshift cables to the transaxle.
    1. Attach the gearshift cables to the bracket and insert the retaining pins.
    1. Attach the gearshift cables to the transaxle linkage and press the tabs into the ball and socket.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:When installing the gearshift cables to the transaxle linkage, an audible click should be heard when the tabs are correctly seated.
    Attach the gearshift cables to the gearshift lever.
    • Install the retaining clips.
    • Press the tabs into the ball and socket.
  1. Adjust the gearshift cables. For additional information, refer to Section  308-00 Manual Transmission/Transaxle and Clutch - General Information.
