Air Conditioning - Condenser Core—Vehicles Without: Charge Air Cooler Transit 2000.5 (01/2000-05/2006)
Removal and Installation

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Drain the air conditioning system. For additional information, refer to Section  412-00 Climate Control System - General Information.

  1. Using suitable pieces of wire, support the radiator.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.
Vehicles with 2.4L diesel engine

  1. Disconnect the intake pipes from the connecting pipe.
All vehicles

  1. Disconnect the horn electrical connector.

  1. Remove the radiator support bracket lower retaining bolt.

  1. Remove the radiator support bracket right-hand retaining bolts.

  1. Remove the radiator support bracket.

  1. Remove the right-hand air deflector.

  1. Remove the left-hand air deflector.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Cap the refrigerant lines and the condenser core to prevent dirt ingress.
    Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser core.
    • Discard the O-ring seals.

  1. Remove the condenser core.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new refrigerant line O-ring seals.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Coat the refrigerant line O-ring seals in clean refrigerant oil prior to installation.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
