Module Configuration - Module Configuration Transit 2000.5 (01/2000-05/2006)
General Procedures

  1. General
    • In order to minimise module variations, different equipment levels and functionalities are incorporated in the same module. This type of module needs to be programmed, configured or initialised after being replaced or disconnected from the vehicle's electrical system.
    • All of the required data (software) are loaded by the WDS into the module. In the process it is for example also possible to replace older software versions with a more current version.
    • If the required data are already present in the module then it needs to be configured. In this process certain parameters are set, and inputs and outputs are enabled or disabled. As a general rule, these parameters should be read out with the aid of WDS from the module which is to be replaced and then transferred to the new module. If this is not possible (e.g. because the old module will no longer react), then the vehicle-specific data will need to be entered manually via a selection list in WDS or via a code which can be obtained from the Technical Hotline. REFER TO WDS for further information.
    • In order to adjust certain settings and function values, various modules will need to be initialised after replacement or after disconnecting the power supply. Here, the input signals received by a module are for example allocated to a particular operating state. The initialisation process takes place on a system-specific basis. For further information REFER to the relevant section.
