Front End Body Panels - Fender Transit 2000.5 (01/2000-05/2006)
Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Detach the front bumper. For additional information, refer to Section  501-19 Bumpers.

  1. Detach the exterior mirror.
    • Remove the covering caps and unscrew the retaining bolts.
    • Disconnect the electrical components.

  1. Release the fender at the side.
    • Unscrew the retaining bolts.

  1. Release the fender at the bottom.
    • Unscrew the retaining bolts.

  1. Release the fender at the top and remove it.
    • Open the hood and unscrew the retaining bolts.

Installation

  1. Install the fender and screw in all the bolts finger tight.

  1. Align the fender.
    • Close the hood carefully.
    • Check and adjust the clearance with the door (6 mm ± 1.6 mm).
    • Tighten the retaining bolts.

  1. Align the fender.
    • Adjust the clearance between the fender and the hood (4.0 mm ± 1.0 mm).
    • Tighten the retaining bolts.

  1. Secure the fender.
    • Tighten the retaining bolts.

  1. Install the exterior mirror.
    • Install the components in the reverse order.
