Remove the head restraints. | | | -
Remove the head restraint guides. - Turn the guides one - fourth turn counterclockwise.
- Remove the guides.

Remove the seat rear trim panel (if equipped). | Vehicles with seat mounted safety belt retractors | | -
CAUTION:The bolt securing the safety belt anchor is held captive by a paper washer. The bolt, spacer and paper washer must remain on the safety belt at all times when the safety belt is detached or removed. Detach the safety belt lower anchors from the underside of the seat. | | | -
CAUTION:The bolt securing the safety belt anchor is held captive by a paper washer. The bolt, spacer and paper washer should remain on the safety belt at all times when the safety belt is detached or removed. Detach the safety belt upper anchors (dual retractor mounting shown). - Remove the covers.
- Detach the bolts.

Remove the safety belt retractor covers (dual retractor mounting shown). - Feed the safety belts through the retractor covers.

Remove the backrest rear trim panel (if equipped). | | | -
Detach the backrest cover from the rear of the backrest. | | | -
Remove the backrest cover. - Roll the backrest cover up the backrest to access the pleating hog rings.
- Cut the hog rings.

NOTE:Use hog ring pliers to close the hog rings. Do not use any other tool. The hog rings must be closed to overlap as illustrated. To assemble, reverse the disassemble procedure. | Vehicles with seat mounted safety belt retractors |
