Using a one inch putty knife, inspect leading edge of hood for bond separation. Gently pry between inner and outer hood panels. See Figure 8.
Inspect entire front bond of hood. If bond has separated, the hood must be replaced. If bond has not separated, proceed to next step.

Remove hood insulator pad and ground strap, then lay insulator face down over engine. This will help prevent adhesive from dropping onto
engine.

Using putty knife, separate inner and outer hood panels by cutting through mastic between points shown in Figure 9.

Using four (4) supplied dowels, spread apart inner and outer hood panels. Place dowels at points shown in Figure 10.
