Glove Compartment Lock Cylinder: Service and Repair

REMOVAL 

NOTE:  If key is not available, use a small screwdriver to depress lock tumblers from rear and rotate cylinder.

1. Insert key in cylinder and rotate cylinder approximately 45 degrees from the UNLOCK position.

2. Apply pressure to outside of key cylinder and pry two retaining tabs away from cylinder to release.

3. After releasing retaining tabs, pull cylinder outward approximately 10 mm (3/8 inch). Rotate cylinder to UNLOCK position and remove key.

4. Remove cylinder from glove compartment door latch.

INSTALLATION 

1. Position cylinder into glove compartment door latch rotated approximately 45 degrees from UNLOCK position.

2. Push cylinder in all the way until retaining tabs snap into place.

3. Rotate cylinder to UNLOCK position.
