2. Oil pan against cylinder block.
3. Slide oil pan back against straight edge using J 34673 or equivalent.
4. Oil pan bolts and nuts but do not tighten.
Measure

Use a feeler gage to check the clearance between the three oil pan-to-transmission bell housing contact points as shown. If clearance exceeds 0.254
mm (0.010 in.) at any of the three points repeat steps 2 and 3 until the clearance is within specification.
NOTICE: It the clearance is more than 0.254 mm (0.010 in.), powertrain durability may be impacted.
Tighten

Bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb. ft.) in sequence.
