An insufficient heating or cooling condition may be experienced on some 1990 M/L vans. This condition can occur if the temperature control door does
not shut completely. A new temperature control cable is utilized on the 1990 M/L vans. Adjustment is preset during assembly. Once preset, it cannot be
readjusted, a new cable has to be installed. There is no turnbuckle for adjustment as on previous models. If full hot or full cold cannot be obtained, the
temperature control door should be checked for proper adjustment by moving the control lever briskly from the cold to hot positions. If the door is
properly adjusted it will shut completely and a "slapping" sound will be heard at each end of the lever travel. If a "slapping" sound of the temperature
control door is not heard it is necessary to replace the temperature control cable and set properly during assembly.
