Mode Control Motor

1.
Measure resistance between motor connector terminals D and E, Fig. 12. Resistance should be 4000 ohms.
2.
Check operation by connecting battery positive terminal to motor terminal A and battery negative terminal to motor terminal B. Motor should run.
Disconnect battery as soon as motor starts, or motor will be damaged.
3.
Reverse battery connections and ensure motor runs in opposite direction.
4.
Connect ohmmeter between motor terminals C and D, then repeat steps 2 and 3 while observing ohmmeter.
5.
Resistance should fluctuate between approximately 1200 ohms with motor in vent position and approximately 4000 ohms with motor in defrost
position.
6.
If motor fails to operate as outlined, motor is defective.
