Retractor Motor: Service and Repair

Retractor Motor Replacement

1.

Remove fuses #6 and #7 from underhood relay box.

2.

Pry retractor linkage from motor arm.

3.

Disconnect 6 wire electrical connector.

4.

Remove 3 mounting bolts and lift motor from vehicle.

5.

Reverse procedure to install with the following additions:

a. Inspect for interference between wiring harness and motor linkage.
b. Coat all joints with grease and inspect for free movement.
c. Before final tightening, move motor forward or back until headlamp doors are flush with the fenderwell when in the closed position.
