Voltage Regulator: Testing and Inspection
Voltage Regulator Test - Removed From Alternator
Brush Holder And Regulator.
1. Remove the brush holder and the regulator from the alternator (4 screws).
Electrical Hookup For Testing.
2. Connect a D.C. power source, switches and lights to the regulator as shown.

L1 for charge warning light.

L2 for alternator field coil.
3. Turn OFF SW1 and SW2.
4. Set the variable D.C. power source to 12 V.
