Temperature Gauge Always Reads Hot
SYMPTOM
The temperature gauge always reads hot.
VEHICLES AFFECTED
1994 Accord, Japan production 4-door only:
thru VIN JHMCD5...RC065414
DIAGNOSIS
With a cold engine, turn the ignition switch on.

If the gauge does not move, follow the normal diagnostic procedure in section 23 of the Service Manual.

If the temperature gauge moves immediately to the full hot position, go to CORRECTIVE ACTION.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the temperature gauge with the part listed under PARTS INFORMATION.
1.
Remove the gauge assembly as described on page 23-116 of the Service Manual.
2.
Remove the trip meter reset knob from the front of the gauge assembly.
