SRS Indicator Light Goes On/ Off/Stays on, No DTCS Are Stored
When the ignition key is turned to the ON (II) position, the SRS control unit performs a self-test that takes about six seconds. During the self-test, there
is not any voltage from the control unit going to the SRS indicator circuit. This turns the indicator light on. If the self-test is OK, the control unit will
send approximately 8.5 V to the SRS indicator circuit. This turns the indicator light off.
The SRS Indicator Light Comes On for the Bulb Check, Goes Off, then Comes Back On After Self-Diagnosis, but no DTCs are stored.
1. Erase the DTC memory.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator light comes on for about six seconds, and then goes off.
Does the SRS indicator tight come on?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures.
3. Check for blown No.1 (15 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse OK?
YES - Go to step 6.
NO - Go to step 4.
4. Replace the fuse. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the fuse doesn't blow.
Is the fuse OK?
YES - The problem has disappeared. Test-drive the vehicle and see Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures.
NO - Go to step 5.
5. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
6. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for three minutes.
