A screeching or moaning sound as the clutch approaches full engagement.

Pressure Plate and Clutch Disc Parts Information

CORRECTIVE ACTION

For '83-'85 Accord, Prelude, and 4WD Wagon: Replace the pressure plate (except on '83 Accord) and clutch disc with the following parts:

For '84-'85 Civic (except 4WD Wagon) up to the following engine numbers, do not replace the clutch disc and pressure plate. Instead, remove the
spring washer from the end of the transmission mainshaft and replace it with an 0.8 mm shim. Do this automatically on eligible Civic transmissions
you open up for any other repairs.
