INNER JOINT

1.

Remove both boot bands. Scribe matching marks on slide joint housing and inner race before separating joint assembly.

2.

Pry off snap ring with a screwdriver. Fig. 4.

3.

Pull out slide joint housing.

4.

Scribe matching marks on inner race and driveshaft.

5.

Remove snap ring ``C,'' then remove ball cage, inner race and balls as a unit. Fig. 5.

6.

Remove snap ring ``B'' and draw out boot.
