Timing Cover Oil Seal: Service and Repair
1.
Remove timing belt. Refer to ``Timing Belt, Replace.''
2.
Remove crankshaft hub center bolt and washer.
3.
Using a suitable puller, remove hub from crankshaft.
4.
Using suitable puller, remove crankshaft timing belt pulley.
5.
Pry out front oil seal using a suitable size screwdriver.
6.
Apply clean engine oil to inner and outer surfaces of new seal, using a suitable seal installer, install the oil seal.
7.
Position crankshaft timing belt pulley flange into seal, align pulley groove with crankshaft key. Drive pulley onto crankshaft using suitable driver.
8.
Align crankshaft hub keyway with crankshaft key, install center bolt. Torque to 98 to 119 ft. lbs.
9.
Reinstall timing belt. Refer to ``Timing Belt, Replace.''
