Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Description and Operation
HYDRAULIC UNIT
The hydraulic unit is elastically supported on the engine room front right side. It consists of a Motor, Plunger Pump, Solenoid Valve and Check Valve.
On the outside, the relay box containing a motor relay and a valve relay is installed. Two Solenoid Valves are used to control each diagonally split
brake line separately.
Solenoid Valve; Reduces, holds or increases the caliper fluid pressure for front disc brake according to the signal sent from the EBCM.
Reservoir; Temporarily reserves the brake fluid that returns from the front and rear disc brake caliper so that pressure of front disc brake caliper can
be reduced smoothly.
Plunger Pump; Feeds the brake fluid reserved in the reservoir to the master cylinder.
Motor; Drives the pump according to the signal from EBCM.
Check Valve; Controls the brake fluid flow.
