Visually inspect that the left-hand rear seat belt D-ring has rotated around in line with the seat belt webbing. (Figure 1)
5.
Release the webbing, ensuring it returns smoothly.
6.
Visually inspect that the D-ring has rotated back into its normal stowed position.

There should be no friction or tightness preventing the D-ring from rotating back into position.
7.
If there is no friction or tightness preventing the D-ring from rotating back into its normal stowed position, repeat steps 1-6 on the right-hand rear
seat belt.
8.
If there is friction or tightness preventing the D-ring from rotating back into its normal stowed position, continue on to step 9.

Refer to Workshop Manual (GTR) Section 501-05:
Interior Trim and Ornamentation to remove the left-hand C-pillar lower trim panel.
10.
Remove the left-hand rear seat belt upper fixing bolt. (Figure 2)

Carefully remove the paper washer.

Disassemble the spacer, wavy washer, and bolt.
CAUTION:
Care must be taken to ensure no material other than the burr is removed. Use caution to carefully remove excess material / burr from the D-ring
bolt aperture.
11.
Insert a suitable round file into the D-ring bolt aperture from the rear face and remove any excess material / burr from the D-ring bolt aperture.
12.
Insert the spacer into the D-ring bolt aperture, ensuring the D-ring rotates freely.
