Unoccupied Front Passenger Seat Noise -
Recliner Mechanism Missing Anti-Rattle Clip -
Repair Procedure

Issue:

This Technical Bulletin has been issued to address customer concerns of a noise from the front passenger seat recliner mechanism.

Cause:

Omission of the anti-rattle clip on the front passenger seat recliner mechanism.

Action:

To install a new anti-rattle clip to the front passenger seat recliner mechanism, follow the Service Instruction outlined below.

Note: 

Ensure the passenger seat backrest is in the upright position.

1.

Remove the front passenger seat (see Global Technical Reference GTR Workshop Manual, section 501-10).

2.

Remove the front passenger seat backrest rear cover (see Global Technical Reference GTR Workshop Manual, section 501-10).

3.

Displace the front seat backrest cover from both sides of the backrest frame.

Working on one side of the seat:

Reposition the front seat backrest cover and detach the recliner mechanism tension spring (Illustration 1).

5.

Apply suitable grease to the bottom channels of the anti-rattle clip.
