Brake Shoe: Service and Repair
Installation

INSTALLATION

1. Lubricate the following parts with molydisulphide grease:

 Support plate ledges

^

 anchor pins

^

 adjuster cable guides

^

 adjuster screw and pivot

^

 parking brake lever and lever pivot pin

2. Connect the parking brake lever (6) to the secondary brakeshoe (5) with the washer and a replacement U-clip (1).
3. Remove Wheel Cylinder Clamp J-8OO2 from the wheel cylinder.
4. Install the brakeshoes with the holddown spring (3), pin (3) and retainers (3). For additional information see brake spring removal and installation

notes. 

5. Install the parking brake lever strut and spring (7).
6. Install the guide plate (8) and adjuster cable (8) on the anchor pin (9).
7. Install the primary and secondary return springs (2) with the cable guide.
8. Install the adjuster screw (4), spring (4) and lever (4), and connect to the cable.
