the hose is aligned with the molded index tang on the tank. Tighten the hose clamps to 25 in-lbs (3 Nm).

Position the fuel tank and shield assembly onto the transmission jack and raise it into position.

Install the fuel tank mounting bolts (Figure 11). Tighten the bolts to 60 Ft-lbs (81 Nm).

Connect the fuel filler and vent hoses to the fuel filler and vent tubes (Figure 10). Tighten the clamps to 25 in-lbs (3 Nm).

Connect the fuel pump module electrical connector (Figure 9).

Connect the fuel pressure and return lines to the fuel filter/fuel pressure regulator (Figure 9).

Connect the evaporative canister vent line near the front of the fuel tank (Figure 9).

Connect the rear axle vent hose clip to the fuel tank shield.

Install the fuel tank heat shield (Figure 8).

For vehicles equipped with a trailer hitch, install the trailer hitch as follows:
a. Raise the trailer hitch assembly into position and install the mounting bolts (Figure 7). Tighten the bolts to 60 ft-lbs (81 Nm).
b. Connect the trailer hitch electrical connector.
c. Install the rear fascia (Figure 5).
d. Insert the rear fascia clips into the quarter panel slots (Figure 6).
e. Install the D-pillar trim and liftgate opening scuff plate.
f.
Install the rear fascia-to-liftgate opening screws and push pins (Figure 5).
g. Install the rear fascia-to-wheel well opening nuts (Figure 4).

Install the wheel well splash shields using new plastic rivets (P/N 34201631).

Install the rear tire and wheel assemblies. Tighten the lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs (136 Nm).

Install the rear fascia-to-fuel tank push pins (Figure 3).

Install the tow hooks (if equipped).
56.
Lower the vehicle.
57.
Connect the negative battery cable.
58.
Refill the fuel tank and then start the engine and verify that there are no fuel leaks.
