Ball Joint: Service and Repair
Front Lower Ball Joint - Removal
REMOVAL
1. Remove the hub/bearing See: Wheel Bearing/Service and Repair/Front Hub / Bearing - Removal.
2. Remove the axle shaft from the axle 4X4 only.
3. Remove the steering knuckle (1)See: Front Steering Knuckle/Service and Repair/Front Steering Knuckle - Removal.
4. Position special tool 9949 (RECEIVER) (4) and 8975-4 (DRIVER) (2) with tool C4212-F (PRESS)(1) as shown to remove lower ball stud.
