Sephia RS Sedan L4-1.6L (1997)
1. Jack up the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
2. Drain the transaxle oil.
3. Use the following procedure to replace the driveshaft oil seal:
A. Remove the front wheel.
B. Remove the splash shield.
C. Separate the front stabilizer from the lower arm.
NOTICE: Do not damage the dust boots.
4. Remove the pinch bolt and pull the lower arm downward. Separate the knuckle from the lower arm ball joint.
5. Loosen the nut and disconnect the tie-rod end with the SST (or equivalent).
NOTICE: Do not subject the tripod joint to shock when removing the driveshaft.
6. Disconnect the left side driveshaft from the transaxle by prying with a bar inserted between the outer ring and the transaxle.
7. Suspend the left side driveshaft with a rope.
8. Remove three bolts and separate the joint shaft bearing support from the cylinder block.
9. Gently pry the joint shaft from the transaxle and suspend with a rope.
