Exhaust Pipe: Service and Repair
Removal
Caution: A hot exhaust system can produce a serious burn.
1. Remove the tail pipe from its support.
2. Remove two nuts at the tail pipe flange.
3. Remove the tail pipe.
4. Remove the gasket.
Installation
1. Clean mating surfaces as required.
2. Install a new gasket on the muffler flange.
3. Lubricate the inside of the tail pipe hanger.
4. Hang the muffler from the tail pipe hanger.
5. Install the tail pipe flange at the rear muffler flange
6. Install two nuts at the rear of the tail pipe flange
Tighten the two nuts to 70 ft. lbs. (100 Nm)
