Child Lock Cam Service Part Replacement Procedure

5A000360 onward

CONDITION SUMMARY:

NEW SERVICEABLE PART AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE REAR DOOR CHILD LOCK CAM

A customer may report a concern that the child lock cam broke while attempting to engage the child lock.

Situation: 

Incorrect operation or excessive force in setting the rear door child lock state may result in the release cam separating from the lock assembly.

NOTE:

The child lock cam on the rear door latch is now available as a serviceable part.

The complete latch assembly does not need to be replaced in the repair of the child lock cam.

To avoid child lock cam breakage, the customer should be advised of the correct method of engaging and disengaging the rear door child locks.

Proper operation of the child locks is detailed in the Owner's Handbook under "Controls & Instruments" > "Locks & Alarms" > "Child Safety Locks"
section.

Action: 

Should it become necessary to replace the child lock cam, refer to the Repair Procedure detailed in this bulletin.
