CONDITION SUMMARY:
DRIVELINE 'CLONK' NOISE AFTER THROTTLE IS RELEASED AND THEN REAPPLIED
Situation:
When the vehicle is in motion and the driver releases and then reapplies the throttle, a 'clonk' noise may be heard. This noise may be the result of an
Engine Control Module (ECM) software calibration issue. A new calibration has been developed to correct this condition.
Action:
Should a customer express this concern, verify the condition and refer to the Repair Procedure below to reconfigure the ECM, check the TCM software
level if within the VIN-range above, and if necessary, reconfigure the Transmission Control Module (TCM) software.
TOOLS:
IDS DVD 109 with Patch File 5 or later software and Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply.
