'Creak' Noise from Upper Fuel Tank Area

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
A creak noise may be heard from under the rear seat area when traveling on an uneven road surface. This noise may be more evident when the fuel tank
is full. This may be caused by the fuel tank, when full, contacting the upper body bracket.
NOTE:
The fuel tank must be below one-quarter (1/4) of a tank to perform the Repair Procedure.
Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to install a foam pad between the fuel tank and upper body
bracket.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
INSTALL FOAM PAD
WARNING:
Ensure the fuel tank level is less than one-quarter (1/4) of a tank.
1. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 501-05: Interior Trim and Ornamentation, and remove the left-hand (LH) and right-hand (RH) C-pillar lower
trim panels.
2. Release the spare wheel removal straps.
Remove the two Allen bolts.
