Nameplate Paint Deterioration
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
Range Rover Sport (LS)
VIN: 6A900500 to 6A910214
CONDITION SUMMARY:
PAINT DETERIORATION ON RANGE ROVER SPORT NAMEPLATES
Paint deterioration has been found on a number of Range Rover Sport vehicles within the above VIN range after limited exposure to exterior
conditions.
Cause: The suspected root cause is a low film thickness of the paint system on the badge or variability in the manufacturing process.
Action: Should a customer complain of deteriorating paint on the vehicle nameplate and nameplate renewal is indicated, refer to the Repair Procedure
detailed in this bulletin.
PARTS:
NOTE: The badge sets contain all the necessary parts and installation aids for a complete vehicle.
^ This issue does not affect the oval "Land Rover" badge.
^ The rectangular "Supercharged" badge is also not affected by this issue. However, due to its close proximity to the "SPORT" badge the
"Supercharged" badge may be damaged during removal of the "SPORT" badge.
^ The "Supercharged" badge is included in the Supercharged Vehicle badge set and should be removed from the installation letter set and discarded
if not required.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
TITLE
NOTE: If a nameplate badge shows signs of paint deterioration, all nameplate badges on the vehicle should be renewed to avoid repeat customer
complaint.
NOTE: The "RANGE" and "ROVER" tailgate letter set can easily be distinguished from the "RANGE" and "ROVER" hood nameplates by the
length of the installation cassette. The "RANGE" and "ROVER" tailgate letter sets are both longer than the equivalent hood letter sets.
